VIA – Environmental Impact Assessment
Environmental Impact Assessment means the procedure that verifies the environmental compatibility of a work.
The environmental assessment of the projects has the purpose of protecting human health, contributing a better environment to the quality of life, providing for the maintenance of species and preserving the ability to reproduce the ecosystem as an essential resource for life. For this purpose, it identifies, describes and appropriately, for each particular case and according to the provisions of Legislative Decree 152/2006, the direct and indirect impacts of a project on the following factors:
1) the man, the fauna and the flora;
2) soil, water, air and climate;
3) material assets and cultural heritage;
4) the interaction between the above factors.
